Welcome to our Website which unfolds to you an insight of Kibubura Girls’ Secondary School, an all-girls school, where learning is self-knowing and self-development of each ‘girl child’ who passes through the hands of this all embracing and loving mother school. Learning at kibubura, gives the child the five pillars of what education should give: Confidence, Competence, Creativity, Knowledge and Good Character.
Thanks to the great founders of the school, who were far sited in taking a daring step to start a school where only girls were to be educated.
Kibubura Girls’ S.S is church of Uganda founded Girls’ Secondary School in Ibanda District located only 250m from Ibanda Town. It was founded in 1981 by visionary men of Ibanda to offer education to the girl child which was a preserve of a few especially boys.
The name Kibubura was given to the School in memory of Julia Kibubura who is known to have been the first woman in Uganda and East Africa to become a Gombolola (Sub county) Chief during the colonial time. Kibubura’s dream of attaining an enlightened society in all walks of life shall be achieved through educating the girl child. When you educate the girl child-female folk, you have educated the nation –The mothers, doctors, teachers, administrators, politicians, engineers etc.
